Our History

1957

Ibex England is founded in Spratton, Northamptonshire, by Peter Foden Lee, in a workshop initially set up to manufacture components for the local shoe industry.

1960’s

During visits to the US, Peter discovers the potential for quality belts in the UK and begins manufacturing them. The business thrives, leading to the expansion of the workshop into a factory.

1970’s

Ibex England expands supplying retailers in the UK and abroad. In 1972, Ibex England earns the Queen’s Award for export success and soon after becomes the sole UK licensee for Pierre Cardin.

1980’s

Ibex England consolidates its operations into a single large production unit in Northamptonshire, expanding its collection to include, braces, and other small leather goods.

2010’s

In 2014, Oxford Leathercraft purchases Ibex England, integrating the brand into its portfolio, while continuing to uphold Ibex England’s core values of resilience, agility, and quality.

Present

Ibex England continues to design and manufacture quality products, using the same methods and some of the original machinery from 1957. Ibex England concluded a branding transition and launched its 2024 collection, while collaborating with brands to produce belts and accessories sold worldwide.
