Making the Right Changes
In today's world, environmental concerns are at the forefront of societal discussions, and every small step toward sustainability counts. We believe that even seemingly minor changes can make a significant impact on the planet. That's why, towards the end of 2023, we set out to reduce single-use plastic in our operations, starting with our products and packaging.
What did we do?
One of the first areas we addressed was our belt hangers. Previously made from single-use plastic, we knew there had to be a better, more eco-friendly alternative. After researching, designing, and sampling, we made the switch to FSC certified cardboard hangers, featuring our Racing Green Colorplan paper showcased across our branding. The newly developed hangers are just as sturdy and even more practical to use with our belts, and now, they fully align with our commitment to sustainability by reducing our plastic footprint.
We didn't stop there.
We also had a close look at our brochure materials. Instead of using laminated paper, which can be difficult to recycle due to the plastic coating, we opted for FSC certified and/or recycled paper from G.F Smith. By choosing these materials, we're not only reducing our reliance on virgin paper but also diverting waste from landfills and supporting responsible forestry practices.
Additionally, we reevaluated our product tags and opted to replace plastic swing tag loops with cotton string. This seemingly small change eliminates unnecessary plastic from our packaging while adding a touch of natural elegance to our products.
Stepping in the right direction.
These changes may seem modest, but collectively, they represent a significant step for Ibex England and the planet. By reducing single-use plastic, embracing sustainable materials, and making mindful choices throughout our operations, we're demonstrating our commitment to environmental stewardship.
We believe that every company has a responsibility to minimise its environmental impact. By making intentional choices and embracing innovation, we can pave the way for a more sustainable future—one cardboard hanger, recyclable brochure, and cotton string at a time.
